In a world where corporate transactions are growing more complex,
we leverage our formidable experience to deliver clarity, focus, and maximum value.

Checkmate’s experts are able to serve as an extension of a corporate executive team.  We have found that there is an underserved gap in the advisory marketplace between venture capital firms guiding post-seed stage companies and issuers readying themselves for larger financings, sale to strategic acquirers or potential Initial Public Offerings (IPOs).  Many companies have expert operators, managers, clinicians, engineers and other talented pillars of their operations but engage Checkmate to act as the “bridge” between their operational teams and the investment banks.

Through our expansive network of contacts in each industry in which we invest, our investees and other clients find value in Checkmate’s strategic guidance and introductions to potential strategic partners.

In addition, Checkmate has an in-house team of corporate attorneys, investment bankers, and former heads of corporate divisions – together we are frequently engaged to assist companies and operators with financial transactions including Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), private placements, joint ventures, partnerships and other transactions.  We are able to assist with institutional quality financial modeling, valuation analysis, data room review and setup, business plans, marketing documents and website development, video content, ESG advisory and contractual review.

Mist Over Skyscrapers

Checkmate’s experts are located in financial centers throughout North America and parts of Asia. We have developed a depth of expertise in facilitating licensing transactions and strategic partnerships usually involving North American technology companies and counterparties in the Asia Pacific region.

We constantly monitor precedent transactions and have an internal database of licensing terms (financial and otherwise).   Checkmate has also formed powerful relationships with leaders in the Asia-Pacific financial community to facilitate these transactions.
